Portovenere view while taking a walk along a charming path. This simple church occupies a wonderful location offering coastal views. The church itself is interesting and very historic. 
Portovenere was known as Portus Veneris It is believed that the name of the town refers to a temple which was dedicated to the goddess, of the beauty and of love, Venus. The temple was located at the exact point where the church of S. Peter is now located.
