Manarola, Cinque Terre

For centuries the locals have made terraces on the steep and rugged landscapes to the cliffs that look out to the sea; the streets are lined with layers of pink, yellow, orange, green and blue houses.
The photographer chose to shoot the oldest of the towns in the Cinque Terre (the five lands)
There is no modern development in the area, as the national park of Cinque Terre is protecting the ecological balance, the landscape and the values of the beautiful coast line.
